This terrible/soul-destroying/unbearable burden often leads to/causes/results in a cycle of despair/feeling lost/lifelong struggle. The consequence of sin/for our souls/in our lives is vast and reaching/profound/far-flung, impacting every aspect of/around/within our being.

God's Covenant with Noah
After the great cataclysm that covered the entire planet, God made a covenant with Noah. This covenant was a bond between God and all living creatures to never again annihilate the earth by flood. As a sign of this covenant, God placed a rainbow in the sky. Whenever Noah and future generations witness this beautiful phenomenon, they would be alerted of God's love and his commitment to never again use such devastation.
This covenant was a new beginning for all creation. It signified that God was merciful and desired to dwell with humanity in peace.
